·              SIGNIFICANTLY ENHANCED NETWORK DESIGN AND PERFORMANCE:  Drove key network initiatives for a multi-billion dollar, multi-national travel/hospitality industry company with 25+ remote sites, including 5 high-volume Call Centers.

-          Led redesign of current manually defined IPSEC VPN WAN.  Developed and deployed MPLS primary WAN with IPSEC DMVPN secondary WAN, as well as application performance monitoring probes on MPLS WAN links and QoS templates serving 5 high-volume Call Centers with Call Center as a Service.  Strategy provided enhanced flexibility at more cost-effective price-points, and elevated customer care capabilities.

-          Consolidated and migrated multiple business divisions’ server rooms to two high availability IBM Softlayer Data Centers in high availability hybrid Cloud configuration.  Implemented Level 3 Tier One enterprise SIP trunking and conversion for 27 sites (from old PRI voice services to SIP), capturing an average $28K-$35K savings per month.

·              2011-2012: Pivotal team member navigating a $60M+ strategic initiative involving transition of multiple Data Centers built on Cisco Systems network equipment to the newly re-engineered next generation architecture (as a result of HP acquisition of EDS), including updating of internal documentation to deliver a scalable and available infrastructure.  Accomplished transformation of 3 Data Centers within allocated timeline and budget, providing a critical upgrade service to customers without unplanned outages.  Role required deep understanding of the inner workings of Service Provider customer interaction and networking, as well as complex Data Center Redundancy and Design.  

 

·              2010-2011:  Designed a cohesive VoIP Unified Communications proposal presented to the CIO and executive board members to upgrade 9 sites with disparate legacy voice PBXs, including in-depth CapEx, OpEx, and TCO evaluations for technology refreshes.  Architected VoIP (UC) Infrastructure solution for Customer Call Center features and WAN upgrade to QoS enabled MPLS, realizing 35% reduction in unplanned outages and 20% improvement in overall performance.  Served as technical author of first-generation IT protocols, appropriate use and security use policies, resulting in enhanced network documentation and troubleshooting scripts.

 

·              2010: Performed design reviews in conjunction with Senior Voice Architect as part of an American Airlines strategy to convert 100’s of sites from legacy PBXs to SIP-based (SIPvX) voice solution planned for global deployment.  Worked on multiple phases of the solution, from analysis, beta testing, documentation, and change controls, leveraging breadth of experience – Data, QoS and Voice – to collaborate with subject matter experts at a high detail level.
